About UAUG

Who we are

A non-profit group of like-minded people who share an interest in Macintosh computers, iPads, iPhones, and other Apple devices. We exist to share knowledge about them, their peripherals, and their applications. Whether you’re a beginner or a polished expert, the UAUG can make your computing more enjoyable.

What we do

We maintain this informational website as well as a members-only discussion forum on Discord.com, and we conduct monthly meetings. The purpose of our activities is to help and encourage our members and others to use Apple products and other products that work with them more effectively.

When we meet

Our monthly membership meeting is held on the fourth Thursday of each month, with the exception of July (when there is no meeting) and December (when our annual holiday party is held on the third Monday). Membership meetings are held at the Dunham Library in Whitesboro, NY, and open with a question and answer period in which one-on-one help is available, followed by a presentation. Door prize giveaways for members in attendance round out the meeting.. The meetings consist of demonstrations, discussions (both group and one-on-one), and just plain good chat and sharing of knowledge. 

Can't attend in person? Meetings may also be attended online. In addition to enabling members to virtually attend meetings, a Discord server also enables members to submit questions and give answers that can be seen only by other UAUG members, view resources referred to at meetings, and send private messages to other members. Links for joining our meetings are included in the monthly newsletter that is emailed to all members. Join us!

Our Board meets on the second Thursday of each month—except in July—online on the Discord server. Board meetings are from 7:30-9pm. 

Membership

Membership is open to all. Annual dues are $20 per year per person. Join UAUG at any of our meetings. A MONTHLY DOOR PRIZE is awarded to a member in attendance at each meeting (in-person or online attendance counts, minimum prize value $10). ANNUAL GRAND PRIZE: Each paid member has a chance to win a Grand Prize at the annual holiday party in December (all paid members have a chance to win, even if not present; value at least $100).
