PhotoShop Alternatives & Making Ringtones in Garage Band

Tuesday, June 26, 6pm One-on-One Help, 7pm Program

DUNHAM PUBLIC LIBRARY, 76 MAIN ST., WHITESBORO, NY 13492

Many of us enjoy editing our photos, but the top software (PhotoShop) isn’t worth the price for most photo hobbyists. Ron Kopelman is going to share with us some alternatives to PhotoShop that offer comparable tools and features for a fraction of the price.

Group President, Dan Herrmann, will be demonstrating how we can make our own ringtones for our iPhones right in Garage Band. When we’re done you’ll be able to make a ringtone from a recording of your favorite indie band or grandchild’s concert.

As always, we invite the membership to propose meeting topics based on their interests and you’re welcome to demonstrate your favorite application or a trick you’ve recently discovered!

See you at the meeting!

Productivity Applications & Apple Continuity Tools

Tuesday, February 27 — 6pm One-on-one Help, 7pm Program

DUNHAM PUBLIC LIBRARY, 76 MAIN ST., WHITESBORO, NY 13492

Sure, we all know what productivity applications are (word processing, spreadsheets, etc.), but sometimes there is no one tool that’s perfect for every circumstance. We’ll be discussing some of the various applications that are available and their benefits.

Another feature set that Apple continues to enhance with each new OS and iOS is Continuity. Continuity is the framework that lets you do things like make and receive phone calls without picking up your iPhone; edit a document on one device and pick up where you left off on another; automatically unlock your Mac when you’re wearing your Apple Watch; and copy and paste images, video, and text from your iOS device to your nearby Mac, or vice versa. We’ll take a look at some of the ways Handoff and other Apple Continuity tools can make your life a little simpler.

We look forward to seeing you there!
